A Dance Awake mix for your conscious dance practice –how it works:
1. All you need to do is just keep dancing, whatever comes at you. Your dance can be big and expressive, or tiny and micro and happening on the inside (maybe even just the rise and fall of your breath!) but it’s your dance. Trust your body to know what it wants to do and let it do that. This will keep you safe too — I’ve only ever injured myself when my brain has tried to override my body’s wisdom.
2. Pay attention to the weight of your body and the pull of gravity. The ground beneath is you holding you, no matter what — so allow yourself to lean into it. Feel the air on your skin, the texture of your clothing, the cells of your body… Taste and smell the air as you breath it in and as you let it go.
3. Perhaps all you have is this moment, in this body. Inhabit it fully… Enjoy:)
