I facilitate a practice called Dance Awake (more details of what this is at the bottom of the page) and for years have been posting waves of music -multi-genre sets designed to meet a wide range of movements and feelings – along with bits of poetry that might offer a portal into an embodied dance experience. Some mixes are a bit rough, but even early attempts are occasionally gems. They are collected in a blog here: MIXES
Independently I run a regular dance called Space to Feel, and am also part of a collective of facilitators called Dancing in the Deep South. For more information on upcoming events join this WhatsApp Chat

*Dance Awake is a conscious dance practice founded by Brian Bergman and is focused on mindful movement and self-discovery. It’s a way to explore one’s inner world through movement, fostering physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This practice emphasizes non-judgmental, free-flowing movement, allowing individuals to connect with their bodies and emotions, and to express themselves authentically.
Key aspects of Dance Awake:
Mindful Movement:
It’s not about learning steps or choreography, but about being present in the body and moving in ways that feel authentic and intuitive.
Self-Discovery:
Through movement, individuals can access their inner wisdom, release emotions, and explore different facets of their being.
Non-Judgmental Space:
There is no right or wrong way to move; it’s a space for exploration and self-expression without judgment.
Benefits:
Dance Awake can help with stress reduction, emotional release, improved self-esteem, and overall well-being.
Conscious Awareness:
It involves paying attention to the breath, bodily sensations, and emotions, fostering a deeper connection with oneself and the present moment.
